At last the day has arrived – the first day of NCECA. Every year this national conference of Ceramic Artists and Educators holds a conference in a different city. Last year it was in Milwaukee, next year it will be in Kansas City and this year it is in Providence Rhode Island.
This is my first time attending this conference so I’m going to post an audio review of my experiences for each day I attend. In this episode I’ll give you a layout of the main exhibition hall and what you can expect to find there on the first day. There is also an orientation event later in the day and a keynote following that.
Through these episodes I hope I can convey my experience as a first time attendee as well as offer my own thoughts on what I feel is significant about this event. I know that I’ll leave a lot of holes in my commentary, but I hope that at the least when you’re done listening you’ll take away with you the character of the conference, the vibe if you will. If you need to know more, you should start planning for the 2016 conference in Kansas City. Also, I’m sure there are lots of people who attended who are blogging about it as well. Just search for NCECA 2015. Their twitter feed is @NCECA
